Share your plan with an advisor
The link works once and expires after seven days.
- Open the Advisor section Go to Profile, then the Advisor section, and choose "Share with an advisor".
- Choose their access Pick View only, Can edit plan or Full access, and whether they can see your spending.
- Send the one-time link Create the link, copy it and send it to your advisor. Whoever opens it joins your household at the level you chose.
How do I share my plan with an advisor?
To bring an advisor in, open Profile, then the Advisor section, then “Share with an advisor”. Choose how much they can do (View only, Can edit plan or Full access) and whether they can see your spending, then create a one-time link and send it to them.
The link works once and expires after seven days. Whoever opens it joins your household at the level you chose. Everything below lets you change or end that access any time.
What can my advisor do at each level?
An “Advisor access” tile appears in Profile once you have invited an advisor. It is the one place you decide what they can do, changeable any time, at three levels.
| Level | What your advisor can do |
|---|---|
| View only | Look at your plan, but never change it. Their changes are a scratch pad: forms stay editable for live modelling, but nothing saves. |
| Can edit plan | Everything above, plus changing and saving your plan: income, goals, insurance. Not your actual balances or transactions. |
| Full access | Everything above, plus your balances and spending. They can record real numbers for you, import statements, correct categories and answer questions about holdings after a brokerage import. |
At View only and Can edit plan, those actions on your balances and transactions are read-only for your advisor. For the advisor’s side of each level, see Access levels.
Can my advisor see my day-to-day spending?
Sharing day-to-day spending is separate from the level. “Share my spending” controls whether your advisor sees accounts, transactions and statements.
- Full access always includes it while that level is set.
- At View only or Can edit plan you switch it yourself, and the line below the checkbox says which, for example “Not shared. Hui Ling sees your plan but not your day-to-day spending.” In the invite dialog it reads “Not shared. They’ll see your plan but not your day-to-day spending.”
- Until you switch it on, your advisor sees “Spending isn’t shared” in place of the Cashflow screen.
- When it is on at View only or Can edit plan, they can read your spending but not upload. Statements are the household’s to import.
What can my advisor always see?
Holdings, snapshots, goal earmarks and investment transactions are readable at every level, even View only. A fully sold holding moves into a collapsed “Closed positions” row instead of disappearing, and if live prices cannot be fetched, Investment shows last-known values and names how old they are.
How do I change or end my advisor’s access?
Once you have added an advisor to your household, an “Advisor access” row joins “Share with an advisor” in the Advisor section of Profile. From there you can:
- Set the access level: View only, Can edit plan or Full access, effective immediately.
- Turn spending sharing on or off: bank accounts, transactions and imported statements. It works independently of the level.
- Remove the advisor entirely. Once they have accepted, the button reads “Remove” plus their name, and it drops access straight away after a confirmation.
- Cancel a pending invite, if you have invited an advisor who has not claimed their seat yet. An unaccepted invite shows “Invited, not accepted yet”, with a “Cancel invite” button.
Nothing your advisor does inside the app can widen their own access. Only you can do that.
If you are the advisor, see the advisor guide for the client list and these levels from your side.
Can my advisor change their own access?
No. Nothing your advisor does inside the app can widen their own access. Only you can change it.
How do I remove my advisor?
Open the "Advisor access" tile in Profile and use "Remove" next to their name. Access ends immediately, after a confirmation.
Can my advisor choose my plan of record?
No, at any level. Which plan is the official one is your call alone.
