Advisor guide
Working in your clients' plans
Your access to each client's plan has three levels. Each includes everything the level below it does, plus a bit more. The client sets the level, and only the client can change it.
| View only | Can edit plan | Full access | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Read the plan | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Edit and save the plan | No | Yes | Yes |
| Record actuals | No | No | Yes |
| See raw cashflow | If shared | If shared | Always |
At a glance
Your client turns this dial. Nothing you do in the app can raise your own level.
- View only The scratch pad Read everything and model live in a meeting. Nothing saves to the client's plan.
- Can edit plan The planning partner Everything View only gives you, and now your edits save. You still can't touch real accounts or balances.
- Full access Everything, including the day-to-day All of Can edit plan, plus you can record the client's real accounts and balances, correct how their spending is categorised, and you always see their spending.
Quick start
Four things to know before your first client meeting.
- Activate your account Use the "For advisors" link on the Perfingo website. Sign in or create an account, declare your firm's name and MAS Representative Number, and accept the Perfingo Advisor Terms to start a free 14-day trial.
- Open a client You land on the client list, every household you hold a seat on. Tap a row to open that client's plan.
- Read the banner Every screen in a client's plan shows a banner naming the client and your access level.
- Keep your own subscription active The client list needs your own advisor subscription, bought and managed on the web. Your clients' own subscriptions are unaffected.
Your own subscription
New to Perfingo? Creating an account from the “For advisors” page skips the consumer welcome wizard and takes you straight to the advisor declaration. Profile has no sign-up card of its own.
Reaching the client list needs your own advisor subscription, with unlimited clients. See Perfingo for advisors for current pricing. It’s bought and managed on the web, never the App Store, so the iPad app points you there instead of offering a purchase it can’t make.
If your subscription isn’t active, you’re treated like any other unsubscribed user. The client list is replaced by a subscribe screen, and a household you’d already opened stops accepting your edits. Your clients’ own trials and subscriptions are unaffected, and subscribing brings it all back. Mid-session, this behaves like any other access change. See When access changes mid-session.
Each client you bring on through a share link gets 6 months of Perfingo free, then a linked rate provided through your subscription (see Perfingo for advisors). Your own trial doesn’t sponsor clients: while you’re trialing, a new client uses their own consumer trial instead, so billing never blocks you from setting up their plan together.
