Getting started

Do I need an account?

Not at first: you can answer the welcome wizard's four questions and see your first projection without one. Saving your plan takes an account, which starts your 14-day free trial. No card is needed. See Your subscription & trial and Plans, saving & your data.

How do I move my local plan to the cloud?

Sign up or sign in with a local plan open. The app offers to move it up, so your plan becomes your first online household instead of being replaced by a blank one. See Plans, saving & your data.

What's the difference between the what-if sandbox and a draft plan?

The what-if sandbox is a temporary copy of your plan of record for trying changes without saving them: close it and nothing sticks. A draft plan is a real plan of its own, saved until you delete it. See The what-if sandbox and Plans, saving & your data.

Is my data on my device or in the cloud?

Before you create an account, your walkthrough answers are saved on this device only. Creating an account, which you need to keep going past the walkthrough, moves your plan into the cloud, where it's stored online and synced to every device you use. See Plans, saving & your data for exactly what's kept where.

Reading your projection

Why did my financial-freedom age move?

It's the first year 4% of your liquid assets (cash and investments you can readily use, not CPF) covers that year's living and lifestyle expenses: the 4% rule. Anything that changes your income, expenses, returns, or a goal's cost can push that year earlier or later. See How the numbers work.

What do the green/amber/red goal badges mean?

They show your projected cash around the goal's year. Green ("On track") means it stays healthy, amber ("Tight") means it dips below your minimum cash buffer, and red ("At risk") means it runs out. See The plan dashboard.

Does the app assume investment returns?

It uses the rates in your plan, and you can change every one. The welcome wizard starts you on 6% a year while working and 4% after freedom, and lists them under "What we're assuming". See Profile & assumptions for where to set them, and Assumptions reference for the figures it does fix.

Where do I put rent?

In Temporary expenses under Expenses, with an end date. General expenses are costs you'll have for life. See Money in and out.

Where do I put an inheritance or a policy payout?

In Ad hoc income under Income, with an amount and an expected date. It is added to your cash in that year, with no tax. See Money in and out.

Why doesn't my bank balance here match my actual bank?

The chart shows the cash your plan projects from your inputs, not your live bank balance. Record an actual balance or import a statement in Cashflow & spending to compare, and the app shows the gap (drift) instead of pretending they match.

Why does the chart look unchanged after a small what-if adjustment?

Usually one of two things: the projection is still recalculating and keeps showing the old chart for a moment, or the change is too small to shift the chart at this scale. Wait a moment, or zoom into the year that matters. See The what-if sandbox.

What's NOT included in the projection?

A few things, on purpose: a second property, service & conservancy charges and utilities as their own line, true age-based pricing for a policy insuring someone other than its owner, and a handful more. See Scope & limitations for the full list.

CPF, tax & goals

What happens to my CPF at 55? When do CPF LIFE payouts start?

By design, your plan treats your CPF Ordinary and Special Account as savings you can withdraw from 55: it keeps back enough to reach your retirement-sum target (Basic, Full, or Enhanced) and treats the rest as spendable cash. Your CPF LIFE payouts start later, at 65. See CPF and Assumptions reference for payout figures.

Why is my projected tax not what I paid this year?

Two reasons: your first year only counts the part you're in, and the plan pays each year's tax a year later, from the _previous_ year's income, mirroring how Singapore actually taxes it. See Income & tax and Scope & limitations.

What happens if I stop paying an ILP early?

The plan follows the premium end date you entered, not what really happens, so change that date if you stop paying earlier. It doesn't yet apply an early-surrender penalty for stopping before the policy matures. See Protection.

Why did a "can be delayed" goal disappear in some years?

Most likely it's a recurring goal: one set to repeat "every N years" only shows a cost and marker in the years it's due, so it looks missing in between. Importance changes how the cost is funded, not which years it appears. See Goals & milestones.

How do I set money aside for a goal?

Set aside a holding, or part of your cash in the bank, for the goal. The app works out how funded the goal is from what you've set aside, so you don't log contributions by hand. See Tracking your progress.

How are children's costs estimated?

Each stage of childhood, from pregnancy through university, has its own yearly cost built from a detailed budget: school fees, tuition, transport, healthcare, and more. See Children & milestones and the figures in Assumptions reference.

Accounts, couples & advisors

What does "plan of record" mean?

Your official, current plan: the one your household keeps up to date, separate from a draft you're exploring or an unsaved what-if. Dashboards, tracking, and advisor views all follow it unless you've opened something else on purpose. See Plans, saving & your data.

Can my partner see everything?

You both share one household plan. Your partner sees exactly what you can, including the parts describing only one of you. They can edit during their own 14-day trial. After it, editing needs a subscription of their own. See Planning as a couple for inviting a partner and switching between Us, You and Partner on Home, Tracking, Cashflow and Investment.

What exactly can my advisor see and change?

It depends on the access level you gave: View only, Can edit plan (plan inputs), or Full access (inputs plus balances and spending). You choose the level and can take it back any time. See Advisor access levels for what each level allows, and Advisor access for clients for how to change it.

I'm a financial advisor. How do I get an advisor account?

Look for the "For advisors" link on the Perfingo website, a sign-up page separate from your Profile screen. Declare your firm's name and MAS Representative Number, accept the Perfingo Advisor Terms, and your account switches over immediately, no waiting or sign-out. Your own 14-day advisor trial starts on activation. A personal plan stays put, pinned as "My plan" atop your client list.

What does "Updated on another device" mean?

Your plan changed elsewhere, such as another of your own devices, your partner, or an advisor with edit access, since you last loaded it. The app holds back your save rather than overwrite their newer version. Reload to see the latest before editing again. See Plans, saving & your data.

Tracking, imports & privacy

Where do I see what changed in the app?

After an update, a "What's new" sheet opens once. To see it again, tap "What's new" in Profile, where the version number is also shown. The version is a release counter, not a date. See Getting started.

Why doesn't my net worth include my flat or my CPF?

Both start switched off, so the headline is your liquid position by default. Turn on your home, its mortgage, and CPF from the breakdown under Tracking's net-worth card. A line under the figure names what's left out. See What counts as your net worth.

Can I import my broker's statement instead of typing every holding?

Yes. Tap "+ Add" on Home and choose "Upload a statement", or tap "Import statement" on Investment. Tracking has an Import button too. The app matches the statement to holdings you already have, asking about anything it can't settle. Bank and card statements work the same way from Cashflow, with no broker or bank login. On Home, the statement door reads the file first and sends it to the right tab. Rows held back for a missing exchange rate are added when you import the same file again once the rate is available. For an import made before release 2026.10.2, add them by hand. See Importing a brokerage statement.

My portfolio suddenly shows dashes instead of values. What happened?

The live price feed is unreachable. Rather than treat a missing price as zero, which would silently drag down your total and every allocation slice, the app shows the last known prices, says how old they are, and leaves out what it can't value. Your own records are unaffected. A holding with no price shows a "Find ticker" button. Pick the right exchange listing and it starts pricing. See When the price feed is down.

Where did my sold holding go?

Into the collapsed Closed positions row under the Holdings list, keeping its full history since your realised gains come from exactly those trades. Open the row to read it, or remove it for good.

Is my screen recorded, and can I turn that off?

Yes, and unblurred, so amounts on screen stay visible. There's no in-app toggle to turn it off; the privacy policy is the notice. Your figures are never sent as analytics _events_, which carry no amounts at all. See Usage data and session recording.

What's the money report, and why don't I have it?

A written summary of your month from your own records, every figure tappable back to its source. It's rolling out gradually, so a missing Money report entry in your navigation just means it's not in your build yet. See Your money report.

For advisors

Why can't I see my client's bank transactions?

Only on View only or Can edit plan with cashflow sharing turned on. Full access always includes it. If sharing's off, Cashflow shows "Spending isn't shared" with a note that the client can share it whenever they like, not an empty account list. See Access levels.

I edited a field on View only. Did it save?

No. Forms stay editable on View only so you can model live, but nothing writes to the plan. Check the banner or footer: "View only" means nothing typed is saved. See Working in a client's plan.

Can I set which plan version is the plan of record?

No, at any level. You can propose, model, and (on Can edit plan or Full access) commit a version, but only the client decides which one is of record.

Why did my delete fail?

Most likely your access changed since you opened the plan. The app tells you plainly, right where you attempted it. If your seat was removed entirely, you'll land back on the client list. See When access changes mid-session.

Can I reuse a plan's shape without copying a client's details?

Yes. "Save as template" keeps the structure but strips personal details, and "New from template" starts a fresh plan from it for the client you're in. See Plan templates.

Can I import a client's brokerage statement for them?

Only on Full access. Importing writes actuals, so it sits behind the same gate as logging a snapshot. On View only and Can edit plan, the upload action is replaced by "Imported by the household. Uploading is theirs to do." With Full access, an import walks you through a Check of the statement, a Review of only the lines that need a decision, and a Changes step before anything is saved. Bank and card statements are imported from Cashflow, and broker statements from Investment.

My subscription isn't active. Do I lose the client I was already working on?

You lose access, not their data. A household you'd already opened stops accepting your edits, and the client list is replaced by a subscribe screen. Their own plan, trial and subscription are untouched, and everything comes back once you subscribe.
